Description

“Sao Joao” festivities are extremely popular in all urban areas and among all social classes in Brazil. In the Northeast, they are as popular as Carnival. These celebrations involve coloured costume wearing, popular music, accordion is mostly used, dancing, drinking and visual spectacles as fires or fireworks. Two northeast towns compete with each other for the title of “Biggest Sao Joao Festival” namely Caruaru in Pernambuco State and Campina Grande in Paraiba State. For Lucy, these festivities are best, because they show the traditions of her people, and she remembers her trajetory. It is the festivity of corn, and she likes everything made with corn or maize. This year the festivities were cancelled, and Lucy invited to a beautiful Live Show online  from her apartment in Rio de Janeiro.
